I believe that the practices of yoga offer practical ways to explore our limitless potential, and to become more powerful, refined, and self aware.

I’ve been teaching Vinyasa Yoga group and private sessions in NYC since 2007 (Certified by Atmananda Yoga), and travelling with my partner, Phillip Askew, teaching workshops and retreats internationally since 2011.

In my work with private students, each session is tailored to support the goals and needs of the individual.  Geometric alignment principles that I’ve learned from Nevine Michaan, founder of Katonah Yoga, are my basis for teaching students how to measure their postures and create symmetry, poise, and balance.  I use hands-on postural assists from the beginning to the end of each session.  Most of the postural assists that I use were taught to me by Phillip Askew, and are distinctive to the style of yoga that we teach.

I am certified in Steele Pilates, and have been studying with Teri Steele since 2009.  I find that Steele Pilates is a functional and beautiful compliment to a yoga practice, offering techniques that create structural integrity and balance in the body. I also have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University, with a concentration in Clinical Psychotherapy, and i'm licensed by the State of New York to practice psychotherapy.  All yoga is therapy and I am interested in the ways in which the physical body affects the emotional body and vice versa. I aim to give each client an experience that fosters healing and growth.
